Victoria Wilson

Victoria Wilson is an Australian abstract artist who creates large-format abstract floral works that draw inspiration from grief and the process of healing. She grew up in Sydney and studied Design and Visual Communication at the University of Technology Sydney before being selected to go on exchange to one of the greatest design schools in the world, Central Saint Martins in London.

She then forged a career as a creative director in experiential design, living in London and New York, and creating world-class experiences for some of the world's leading companies such as Google and Oprah. During this time Victoria refined her fine art practice by studying under Frank O’Cain at the Art Students League of New York.

After her father suffered a serious pedestrian traffic accident, Victoria’s life changed forever. As part of the process of addressing her grief and with a goal of turning it into some gold, Victoria expresses her sadness, pain, joy and growth through the medium of painting canvas, typically on the floor. During this process she freely captures her true state of being and invites the viewer to feel the same energy and vibrations of the moment themselves.

Her artwork is both grand in scale and contains minute detail. Each work is typically painted in a combination of acrylic, Japanese ink, foil and oil pastels.
