Sam Patterson-Smith

Sam Patterson-Smith is an artist that lives and works in Sydney, Australia.

He holds a Bachelor of Secondary Teaching and a Bachelor of Fine Art from the University of Newcastle and has been a finalist in the Fisher’s Ghost Art Prize, Blacktown City Art Prize and the Into The Light Art Prize.

His work stylistically oscillates between abstraction and realism.

“I love both and cannot simply do one. Each brings a different kind of satisfaction to me
as an artist, there's a freedom that comes with abstraction and its lack of boundaries, but then realism brings such an empowering feeling when accomplishing a likeness.”
